Accommodation is at Sofilel Hotel Palais Jamai Fez, and the tour includes a walk through the Old Medina of Fez as well as a discussion with local Moroccan students. Entire price is around $4,000 USD not including flight.
Eldertreks offers the “Melting Pot of Cultures” tour, also with a stopover in Fez. You can design your own trek, from archeological to wildlife to rafting, as well as the trek’s level of difficulty. This trek starts in Casabalanca and winds through Fez with a day trip at the Imperial City of Meknes and Roman ruins of Volubilis. The trek ends with a leisurely hike in the Atlas Mountains. This is the perfect up-close experience of Berber life and folklore.

Some events popular with elderly tourists include the Fez International Festival of Sacred Music (annually in June), and visits to the Royal Palace/Mellah (Jewish Quarter) in Fez el-Jdid (New Fez). You can take a relaxed trek up to the Merenid tombs. You won’t mind resting at the top with its stunning views into the city. The Moujlord Gardens, Attarine Medersa (14th century), and the Karaouine Mosque (9th century) are also much attended by older travelers.
