Getting There in Dakhla

Edit This
Most people coming to Dakhla bring their own transport. The road up north is long and dusty but not hard or difficult. There are buses and shared taxi's to Laayoune (al-Ayun), but only once a day and it's a long 9 hours ride.

If you are going south to Mauritania, you got some hard travelling to do. First thing you do as you get into town is register at the Surete. There are no more convoys and you can head towards Mauritania whenever you please though you must be sure to register with the police check point.

If you're looking for a ride, the campground by the police check point is a good place to look. Your best bet is with other travelers who have their own car or with Mauritanian fruite sellers.
