7 Day Itinerary in Casablanca

Edit This

Morocco is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and Casablanca its most famous city. If you are planning a trip to Casablanca and are not quite sure what to do, here are 7 suggestions in the following Casablanca itinerary.

Day 1

Spend the day on the beautiful white sand of Adagir Beach. Enjoy lunch in one of the many cafes and restaurants that line the beach or take some time to browse one of the shops. For a unique memory of Casablanca, take a camel ride down the beach and have a photo taken to remember the event.

Day2

Old Medina was once surrounded by large stone walls and 4 large gates, but today it is a large market with vendors peddling their leather crafts, foods, brass, linens and jewelry. If you find something you like, be prepared to haggle over the price. Part of the fun in shopping in Old Medina is bargaining with the merchants.

Day3

The Boulevard de la Corniche is a very popular local and tourist hangout. In the evening you can find the locals walking along the beach enjoying the sea air. The area is a smorgasbord of restaurants, cafes, pools and hotels. Further down the Corniche is the resort community of Ain Diab which is home to the Sinbad amusement park.

Day 4

Port of Casablanca is the largest port in North Africa and the Maghred. It is also the largest man made port in the world. From the Port of Casablanca you can see the Mosque of Hassan II. Along the port there are seafood restaurants and others, so enjoy lunch while you are there. The port is definitely a must see while you are in Casablanca.

Day 5

Hassan II Mosque is one of the most impressive mosques in the world. The mosque sits over the Atlantic. In fact, you can see the water through a glass floor inside. The main worship center holds 25,000 people, but the outside courtyard holds 80,000 making it the second largest mosque in the world, second to Mecca. Hassan II Mosque is also the only mosque in Casablanca that non-Muslims can visit.

Day 6

Spend the day exploring Ville Nouvelle, the New Medina. Ville Nouvelle is filled with shops and cafes. In the afternoon, visit the Square of Mohammed V, where you can see the beautiful architecture of the government buildings. You will want to stick around after night falls as the fountain in the center of the Square of Mohammed V comes to life in a colorful presentation of light and water.

Day 7

Parc de la Ligue Arabe is the largest park in Casablanca. Beautiful flowers and trees line the street and the art nouveau style houses and the stained glass windows of the Notre Dame de Lourdes anchor the park. Enjoy a picnic lunch or stop by one of the cafes that surround the park.
