La Cocoteraie

It is in the northwest of the island in Mont Choisi, opposite the hotel of the same name. It is good for people, who like to go arround, because a busstop is in the near. In 10 minutes to Grand Baie, for shopping or dinning, in 15 min. to Péreybère, a beautiful beach  and a nice village at the north coast. In 40 min. to Port Louis, the capital of the island i, there is a large bus station, where you can get  another bus, to reach each place of the island.

The owner is a mauritian family, and actually run by Madame Grandpierre a french woman. She lives with her family there. In the rezeption Salim is working, the good spirit of the house, a Mauritian, who speaks very well english and french. He has always tips, you must only ask him...

where you can do good shopping:

Salim knows his island very well. He will also answers the e-mails.

There are 5 bungalos, ground floor with living room, kitchen, toilet, terrace, balcony,
1.floor: 2 bedrooms with ac, bath, 2 balconies.
Behind this is a house with several Studios and apartements
The houses are located in a small garden with swimmingpool.

A nice restaurant is located in front of , with inexpensive meals.
It is open from 8.00 to late in the night.
Continental breakfast for 70 rs (1,50€), menu starting from 270 rs (7,50€)
shrimps in garlic sauce or steak 190 rs (6€) , beer,coke, water 40 - 50 rs (1,20€).

In the near you can find  (walking time: 1-4 minutes) a bank, exchange office, shops for food, like beverages, newspaper, bread, restaurants,
3 hotel and a bus stop.

Then the most important:

One of the most beautiful beaches of the island, the 4 km
Trou aux Biches - Mont Choisy Beach.
A beautiful long bay, with all watersports , like parasailing, glass bottumboat, bananaboot and water ski, deep sea-fishing  for the marlin and 3 good diving centers. But the beach is so long and you can find easy some calme corners. In the northern part of the Mont Choisi Beach mauritian familys come for barbecue on the weekends. There are foodstalls with drinks, coconut milk and special mauritian food, like samoussas and bread with fish and octupus picture of La Cocoteraie.
