Getting There
Edit This
It is a long way to Nouadhibou, wherever you are coming from. Coming from Morocco, you have just had about two tiring days of sand driving, customs and avoiding landmines. Going to
Nouakchott is nowadays very easy with a paved road all the way. Thanks to that, the capital can be reached in in only max. 5 hours. The long and difficult beach road between Nouadhibou and Nouakchott is now history.
There is also a train, which takes you to Zouerate, one look on the map will tell you this is the wrong direction, but from Zouerate the rest of the country is accesible by road. Taking this route has one other advantage, namely that you can see Chingetti and Ouadane on your way from Nouadhibou to Nouakchott. For more info on the train see the Zouerate section.
