Museums in BlantyreEdit This
The museum in Blantyre is called "Chichiri Museum" and is located near the B lantyre Civic offices along Blantyre-Limbe road the " Chipemphere Highway". It offers hours of enjoyment and learning to tourists in the city that could not be regretable. It has a wide collection for both the natural and cultural heritage for Malawi . The museum has a lot to offer through, among others,display cases with mounted specimens, lecturing, film screening, traditional dances and contemporary music.The museum also gives a detailed account of the people known as Malawians dating back from prehistory era through slave trade, the early missionaries, the British rule to the times of independence. The must-see on the grounds of the museum are two things. The first locomotive machine which was used to construct the first tarmarc road joining Limbe and Thyolo/Mulanje known as Robert Mugabe road previously called Midima road. The other must-see is a sample of a house in a typical rural/village-set up.This type of house is very rare in the villages these days due to mordenisation.
