The fortified Granary at Qaser el Haj, in the Jabal Al Gharbee (Western
mountains) region of Libya is about 150 km south of Tripoli and 222
metres (728 feet) high. It has 114 (based on the number of Surahs or
chapters in the Koran) store rooms for grain and about 30 rooms for
storing olive oil.
