Germa is the place to come to for a visit to the ruins of Garama, the ancient city
of the Garamantians, built around the 1st century AD. It is
one of the most important archaeological sites in all of Libya. The
city floursihed between 900 BC to 500 AD was the dominate culture
of the region and Ancient Garama was the capital.
There is a good museum, burial sites in the hils of Zinchecra.
