The Amigos Guest House on Gusil Rd and the Shik Parkview Hotel (# (037) 212345) on the corner of Kenyatta Ave and Bondoni Rd offer cheap rooms for KSh 250/300 and KSh 230/400 respectively, for singles/doubles. They are both clean, and rooms at the Shik Parkview include breakfast.

Try the Carnation Hotel (# (037) 43522) on the corner of Mosque Rd and Mburu Gichua Rd for a good mid-range hotel. Singles/Doubles are KSh 360/700 including breakfast.

A traditional place is the Midland Hotel (# (037) 212155) on Geoffrey Kamati Rd. It offers rooms with attached bathrooms and breakfast from KSh 2000/2500. There are 3 bars and 2 good restaurants on the compound.

The nicest and most modern place in town (and the only one offering international standard) is the newly built Merica Hotel (constructed in 2003). Excellent accomodation is available at the calm and secure suburban village of Section 58 approximately 1.5 kilometres on the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.

There are three Hotels to choose from. The Crater View Hotel and The Crater View Annexe close by. All affordable middle class hotels. On the posh side near a well serviced Shell Petrol Station and Caltex Service Station, there is the Hotel Kunste.

From Section 58 you have a clear view of the Eastern slope of the Menengai Crater. You also have a clear view of the Lake Nakuru National Park to the South of Nakuru.

Approximately 1km and a 10 minute walk-away lies the Hyrax Hill pre-Historic site. Adjacent to the Hyrax Hill is The Pine Breeze Health club and gymnasium.
