Eating Out in Nairobi
Edit ThisIf you want fast food, there are several options. There is a group newly built restaurants on the corner of Moi Ave and Mama Ngina St. There’s a Creamy Inn, Pizza Inn, Nando’s and Chicken Licken all next to each other. There are also two burger chains in Nairobi: Steers and Wimpy’s. There are three Steers and even moreWimpy’s in several locations around town. Expect to pay from KSh 200-350 at these fast food places. For the cheapest chicken in town, go to one of the many Kenchic Inns, where you can get a quarter, half, or full chicken for KSh 75, 150, or 300. It’s a favorite of the locals, and the chicken is deliciously good.

Chapati
Edit ThisYou could describe this as a combination of Indian and Chinese dishes.
This would be criminal. Much better to see it as somewhere you can get phenomonal and authentic South Indian cuisine cheaply in Nairobi. Fancy Masala Dosa and freshly squeezed orange, tangerine and carrot juice mix? Call a cab.

Furusato Japanese Restaurant
Edit ThisFurusato Japanese Restuarant is very affordable. They serve the best seafood and the best meat quality. They have moved to a bigger and spacier new site with more wonderful interior and beautiful, elegant wallpapers. They now have 6 Tepanyaki tables and a more wider Sushi Bar. Their food seems to taste more delicious the often we go there. You are greeted with a warm heart and are leaded to the waiting area where they will later take you to your table. Furusato Japanese Restuarant will always serve you their best

Hooters
Edit ThisFor American food, I suggest the new Hooters on Kaunda St. Hooters is a sports restaurant/bar, with several TVs playing VH1 or soccer games. The service is maybe the best in town, although meals are a bit expensive, from KSh 250 to 400 per person. Meals range from sandwiches, hamburgers, and pizza to excellent milk shakes, a rarity in Kenya.

Carnivore
Edit ThisCarnivore restaurant: Some more zebra?
For barbecue and big game meat, there is no other place than the famous Carnivore. It lies just out of town on Langata road past Wilson Airport. Carnivore serves some of the best meat in the world.
The menu nowadays only ranges from the normal chicken, pork, to beef and lamb. All the exotic game meats are no longer available. The special offerings that were available in the past (giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, wildebeest) are unfortunately no longer served, 'because of governement restrictions' as a waiter claimed. This takes away a lot of the more..
