Kumasi is an excellent base for exploring the North of Ghana. It is situated in the middle of Ghana with Gateways to the Brong Ahafo, and Northern Regions of Ghana. It has a good tourist infrastructure with many accommodation facilities and restaurants. It is also a major travel hub. Bonwire, Owabi Wildlife Resort and Lake Bosumtwi are good daytrips.
If you visit Lake Bosumtwi try to have a look at RAinbow Garden Village Guesthouse. A very nice Guesthouse with Restaurant layed on the shore of the lake.
From Accra you may gt to Kumasi by land or by air. It is about three and half hour drve by bus to Kumasi. Coaches from the State Transport Corporation, Private ervices such as O.A. Travel from the central part of Accra cost about $12 dollars in local currency, the cedi.
