7 Day Itinerary in Sharm el SheikhEdit This
A week in Sharm el-Sheikh could be well spent lying on the beach and soaking up the sun, but why not make the absolute most out of your trip. There's a lot to see in the area, but with a good itinerary you should be able to do everything in seven days and still have time for relaxation.
Day One - Checking Things Out
Once you've checked into your hotel, you can get set for a week of fun by booking a massage. Most hotels have massage services on offer, and it's an excellent way to start any vacation. It's also a good idea to do this before you wind up looking like a lobster and being unable to abide anyone touching your skin. You can then head to the beach to catch the sunset and enjoy dinner at any of the fantastic restaurants in Na'ama Bay.
Day Two - Diving
The Red Sea is known to all divers as being one of the absolute best locations for underwater life. There are plenty of dive schools around that offer day trips out. You can leave any time between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. and get in three dives and a fantastic boat trip besides. With most schools lunch is included in the price. You'll be back in time for dinner, tired but hopefully thrilled with the aquatic life that you saw.
Day Three - At the Beach
After an entire day of diving, you're sure to be ready for a bit more of a low-key day. If you hit the beach, you can spend the day alternating between beach lounges and the inviting waters. Lining the beaches are also various stalls where you can hire snorkeling gear or book yourself in for a parasailing or wake-boarding adventure. Once night falls you can trade in your bathing suit for some stylish threads and check out the club scene in Na'ama Bay. There are plenty of bars and clubs in the area, and you're sure to find one that has the vibe you're looking for.
Days Four and Five - Desert Safari and Mt. Sinai
A highlight of any trip to Sharm is exploring the surrounding desert. You can hire quads to go for a race through the sand, or just book a trip out with the local Bedouins. Once you've made the trek to the middle of the desert you can set up camp, and your guides will fix you an incredible traditional dinner. After that you can sleep under the stars-be sure to bundle up, it gets cold in the desert! Bring a portable alarm clock with you and set it for between 2 and 3 a.m. so that you can head to Mt. Sinai and make it to the top to experience a breathtaking sunrise. When you get back to the bottom be sure to take some time to explore St. Katherine's Monastery and touch the legendary descendant of the burning bush of Moses.
Day Six - Ras Mohammed National Park
Another great day trip to make is a tour of Ras Mohammed National Park. You only need half a day for this trip, so you can spend the morning catching up on the sleep you missed the night before. Once you're there, you can head to the Eel Gardens to see these amazing creatures in their natural habitat. The park is also popular for bird watching, but the main draw are the incredible coral walls.
Day Seven - Dinner on the Water
You'll probably want to spend your final day back at the beach, working on your tan before you head home. Again, you can sign up for snorkeling, parasailing or any of the numerous boat trips that are offered all around the beach. Finish your vacation with a luxurious dinner on the Red Sea. Glass bottomed boats will take you out over the sea so that you can watch the fish while you dine. It's a fantastic way to end your trip.
