The Sinai peninsula is approximately 380 kilometers between north and south and 210 kilometers between west and east. There are 22 different Bedouin tribes living here and they are native to this land for centuries. About Dahab Dahab is located on the Red sea between Sharm-el-Sheikh to the south and Nuweiba to the north. Dahab is one of the most attractive beach resorts in South Sinai, Egypt. Its sea shore is covered with fine golden sand that might have given Dahab its Arabic name"Gold". Dahab belongs to the "GMT+2" time zone and "GMT+3" in a summer period from May to September. The geographical coordinates of Dahab are: N28.49° E34.50°. Dahab is a real paradise for diving and snorkeling thanks to amazing underwater landscapes of the Red sea. Program 1: White Canyon, Ain Hudra Oasis and Rock of Scriptures. We leave Dahab at 8:00 by minibus and head towards Assafee Dune (one hour), where we can either ride the camel or walk to the White Canyon (one hour). We will explore the Canyon in the canyon for one hour, arriving at the Ain Hudra Oasis where we will enjoy a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea and rest a little. We then walk one hour and half before arriving to the Rock of Scriptures. We then walk for 20 minutes before we meet the minibus and then head back to Dahab (one hour). Program 2: Arada Canyon and Wadi Arada. We leave Dahab at 8:00 by minibus and drive towards Wadi Arada (one hour and a half). On the way, we will stop to have tea with a Bedouin family where we will hop on the camel for one hour and a half through Wadi Arada. We will arrive at the Arada Canyon, where we begin our exploration by foot of the canyon for about one hour and a half. We will have a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea at the exit of the Arada Canyon, rest a little. We will then leave the Canyon by camel or by foot and head back to the Bedouin family where we will meet the minibus and head back to Dahab (one hour and a half). Program 3: White Canyon, Ain Hudra Oasis and Closed Canyon. We leave Dahab at 8:00 by minibus and head towards Assafee Dune (one hour), where we can either ride the camel or walk to the White Canyon (one hour). We will explore the Canyon in the canyon for one hour, arriving at the Ain Hudra Oasis where we will enjoy a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea and rest a little. We go by foot or camel to Closed Canyon (one hour) and explore the Canyon for about one hour. We walk or go by camel to Nagoup Hahmidet (one hour and a half) and then pass by Wadi Ghazala (one hour) and then meet the minibus at the end of Wadi Ghazala and drive back to Dahab (one hour). Six days tour around Sinai. Day 1 We will be leaving Dahab at 8 am by jeep for a ride that will last about 2 hrs, until we arrive to the Colored canyon. We will start walking for 1.5 hr, then we meet the jeep for another 1.5 hour drive, stopping briefly at Mushroom rock for 15 to 25 min, then arriving at the Ain Hudra oasis where we will have lunch. After a 2 hr break, we will go by foot to the White Canyon and then we will return to the oasis for dinner, where we will set up camp. Day 2 After breakfast, we will start to trek or go by camel to the Wadi Room (wadi means valley) taking about 2.5 hrs, we will walk around and then we will have lunch and rest for a while. After lunch, we will start walking for about 2.5 hrs, setting up camp and have dinner there. Day 3 After breakfast, we will start walking, reaching Naggob Erlem (the highest point, at 955m), arriving at Am Hamata after 3 hrs, where we will have lunch. We will start walking for about 3 hrs, reaching Ra Aebeia where we will camp and have dinner. Day 4 We have breakfast and then we start walking for 3 hrs towards Gabal Algunna (1238 meters above sea level), where we will have lunch. We then go to Naqb Arada (1.5 hr), and we start going down to Arada Canyon (Double Canyon), walk around it for 1.5 hr and then head towards the sand dunes (40 minutes), where we will have dinner and will be spending the night. Day 5 and Day 6 We will have breakfast and leave at 8am, walking for 1.5 hour and then get to Face Rock and walk around it for a while. We will walk further on for about two hours, reaching Pigeon Canyon. We have lunch there, relax a little and then walk for two hours, meeting up with a bedouin family, where we will have dinner. We will rest until 11pm and the minibus will pick us up and we will drive to St.Catherine (1.5 hr), where a guide will be waiting for us. We will then walk up Moses mountain (2 to 3 hours), watch a beautiful sunrise and head back to the monastery for a visit. Please note that you will receive a small breakfast box when boarding the minibus. In order to allow for the visit of the monastery, we will have to plan that visit to fall on a day when it is opened to the public (closed on Friday and Sunday), during visiting hours (from 9am to 12). We then head towards Dahab by car (2 hours), arriving at around 12:00 (Day 6). Please note that for most of the walks, you can choose to do it either by camel or by foot (except for canyon walks and Moses mountain), as we will have the camels with us the whole time. It will be important to bring good hiking shoes, a scarf, warm clothes (long clothes for the Monastery), sun glasses and lotion. You will also need a visa valid for the whole of Egypt (not just the Sinai). The tour includes the guides, food and water, tent, sleeping bags, transportation from Dahab and back to Dahab (including camels) and entry fees to the national park. Please let us know if you have any food restrictions (allergy, etc). 6 days camel safari. Day 1 We will leave Dahab at 8:00 by minibus for a 1 hour journey arriving at Wadi Arada where we will meet our Bedouin hosts to refresh, drink tea and pack the camels for a 1 hour journey to Arada Canyon (Double Canyon). We have a 1.5 hour hike around the interior of the canyon. Lunch will be served with tea, and a chance to relax. We trek with camel for a further hour, then arrive at Face Rock where we will explore on foot the amazing rocks and canyons, whilst our camp is being made. Our evening will be a traditional Bedouin style dinner with fire and tea. Day 2 After breakfast we will have a 1 hour camel trek to Pigeon Canyon where we will explore the canyon on foot for about 2 hours. Our camel will meet us at the other end where we have lunch and relax for an hour and a half. We have a further foot trek for about 2 hours then arrive at our evening camping site where again we will have a traditional Bedouin dinner and the evening enjoying the millions of stars. Day 3 After breakfast we have a 2 hour walk to reach Gebel Algunna (1238 meters above sea level) where we will have lunch and enjoy the spectacular views overlooking all of Sinai including Gebel Mousa (Mount Moses) for 2 hours. We will walk for about 2.5 hours along the mountain tops enjoying the stunning views to reach Ras Aebeia which again has stunning views to watch sunset and again enjoy a lovely Bedouin evening by the fire with local stories. Day 4 We will leave Ras Aebeia after a good breakfast and walk for about 1 hour, where we will leave Aebeia. We will arrive at Erlem Valley for a 2 hour hike. In the middle of the valley we will have our lunch and explore the various caves and cliffs. A further 2 hours walk through the valley and we will reach the end of the valley where our camp will be made. Day 5 We will travel up to the top of Naggob Erlem (955 meters above sea level) then decend, which will take about 2.5 hours and arrive at Wadi Room (wadi means valley and Room means Roman). We have lunch then a 2.5 hours trek to our camping site, for another evening of Bedouin entertainment. Day 6 After an hour walk we will arrive at Closed Canyon where we will explore the canyon for an hour then return to the camel for an hours trek to Ain Hudra oasis where we will have lunch and explore. Then we go to White Canyon taking about 1.5 hour and we meet the camel for a further half hour where we will meet our minibus for the hour long drive back to Dahab. Please note for most of the treks, you can choose to do it either by camel of foot (except for canyon walks) as we will have the camels with us the whole time. It will be important to bring good hiking shoes, a warm scarf, sun tan lotion and sunglasses and long clothes. The tour includes the guides, food and water, tents, sleeping bags, transportation to and from Dahab. If you have any specific food requirements (allergy etc) then please let us know and we will arrange suitable. If you would like any alterations to the trip again we are very happy to tailor your trek to your exact requirements. Jeep desert safari around Sinai. Program 1: Coloured Canyon, Mushroom rock, Ain Hudra Oasis, White Canyon. We leave Dahab at 8:00 and drive by jeep for about 2 hours (one hour and half on the road, half an hour on dirt roads). We arrive at Coloured Canyon where we will walk for one hour and a half in the canyon. We will meet the jeep again and drive to Mushroom rock (one hour). We will visit the area of Mushroom rock for about 15 minutes and then we will keep driving to Ain Hudra Oasis where we will have a Bedouin tea and lunch. We will relax a little bit in the oasis, before we start a hike towards the White Canyon (one hour and a half), where we will meet the jeep again to go back to Dahab (one hour). Program 2: Arada Canyon (Double canyon), Bir Safra, Heduda Sandy dunes, Jabel Majaroum, Nawamees (the tomb). We leave Dahab at 8:00 and drive by jeep to Arada Canyon (one hour and a half). On the way, we will stop to have tea with a bedouin family. We begin our exploration by foot of the canyon for about one hour and a half, after which we drive by jeep to Bir Safra, where we will have a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea. We rest a little and head by jeep to Heduda Sandy dunes and Jabel Majaroum, where we explore the area for about one hour. We will then drive for 30 minutes before arriving at Nawamees, where you will see an ancient tomb. We then drive back to Dahab (one hour and a half). Program 3: Canyon Ghazala, Mushroom rock, Ain Hudra Oasis and White Canyon. We leave Dahab at 8:00 and drive by jeep to Ghazala Canyon (one hour and a half). We will walk through the canyon for about one hour and a half, meeting the jeep upon exiting the canyon. We will drive for 30 minutes, arriving at Mushroom rock, visiting the area for 15 minutes before driving to Ain Hudra Oasis where we will have a Bedouin tea and lunch. We will relax a little bit in the oasis, before we start a hike towards the White Canyon (one hour and a half), where we will meet the jeep again to go back to Dahab (one hour). Program 4: White Canyon, Ain Hudra Oasis, Closed Canyon, Mushroom Rock. We leave Dahab at 8:00 and drive by jeep to the White Canyon (one hour and a half) and walk through the canyon for an hour and a half. We will exit at the Ain Hudra oasis where we will meet the jeep to have lunch and Bedouin tea in the oasis. We will rest a little before we head by jeep to the Closed Canyon (30 minutes). We will visit the canyon for one hour and then go by jeep to Mushroom rock (30 minutes), where we will walk around the rock for about 15 minutes before heading back to Dahab (one hour and a half). Program 5: Arada Canyon (Double Canyon), Face Rock, Al Hamam Canyon (Pigeon Canyon) and Sandy dunes. We leave Dahab at 8:00 and drive by jeep to Arada Canyon (one hour and a half). On the way, we will stop to have tea with a Bedouin family. We begin our exploration by foot of the canyon for about one hour and a half, after which we drive by jeep to Face Rock (30 minutes), where we will have a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea and time to explore the area. We rest a little and drive to Al Hamam Canyon (30 minutes). We will walk inside the canyon for about one hour and half, before meeting the jeep again and heading to Sandy dunes, where we will have to take great pictures. We then head back to Dahab (one hour and a half). Please note that we can also arrange trips to Zig Zag canyon, Ziraneeg Canyon, Wadi el Jibbee, Forest of Pillars, Ain Oum Ahmed Oasis and much more as the Sinai has a lot to offer! We can also cater special trips based on your preferences, between one to seven days. If you want it, we can do it! Trips and excursions to St.Catherine and Mount Moses. The Orthodox Monastery of St.Catherine stands at the foot of Mount Horeb where, the Old Testament records, Moses received the Tablets of the Law. The mountain is known and revered by Muslims as Jebel Musa. The entire area is sacred to three world religions: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. The Monastery, founded in the 6th century, is the oldest Christian monastery still in use for its initial function. Its walls and buildings of great significace to studies of Byzantine architecture and the Monastery houses outstanding collections of early Christian manuscripts and icons. The rugged mountainous landscape, containing numerous archaeological and religious sites and monuments, forms a perfect backdrop to the Monastery. Opening hours of the Monastery are from 9:00 to 12:00, closed on Friday and Sunday. Program 1: Visit of St.Catherine Monastery. We leave Dahab at around 7:30 and arrive at St.Catherine Monastery at approximately 9:30. We have about 1.5 hour to visit the Monastery, and then return to Dahab. Program 2: Sunrise on Mount Sinai and visit of St.Catherine Monastery. We leave Dahab at around 11:00pm and arrive at St.Catherine Monastery at around 1:00am. We begin our ascent of Mount Sinai (Moses Mountain, 2285m), which will take us between 2 to 3 hours. We will watch the beautiful sunrise on the top of the Mountain where according to the Bible, Moses received the Ten Commandments. After sunrise, we hike back down to the Monastery, where we will have about 1.5 hours to visit. After the visit, we then return to Dahab. Program 3: Sunset on Mount Sinai and Visit of St.Catherine Monastery. We leave Dahab at around 7:30 and arrive at St.Catherine Monastery at approximately 9:30. We have until 11:00 to visit the Monastery. We depart the Monastery to a Bedouin camp where we will have a traditional Bedouin lunch. After lunch and fantastic Bedouin tea, we head to Mount Sinai passing by Wadi al Arbain begin our ascent our Mount Sinai (Moses Mountain, 2.5 to 3 hours, 2285m) in order to catch the beautiful sunset. After sunset, we hike back down towards the Monastery and drive to Dahab, where we will arrive at around 9:30pm. Program 4: Sunset, sunrise and visit of St.Catherine Monastery. We leave Dahab at around 9:00 and stop on our way in a Bedouin family where we will have tea and lunch. We then drive by Wadi Al Arbain (1 hour) to begin our ascent of Mount Sinai (Moses Mountain, 2-3 hours, 2285m) where we will watch a beautiful sunset. After sunset, we will eat a light Bedouin dinner, and exchange about Bedouin culture and the history of the area. We will rest until approximately 4:00am, and get ready to watch the sunrise. After sunrise, we hike back down to the Monastery, where we will have about 1.5 hour to visit. After the visit, we then return to Dahab. Program 5: Visit of St.Catherine Monastery, White Canyon and Ain Hudra oasis. We leave Dahab at 7:30am for a two-hour jeep ride to St.Catherine Monastery. We will have approximately 1.5 hour to visit the Monastery. We then go by jeep to the White Canyon (1 hour), where we will have approximately 1.5 hour to explore the area and get to Ain Hudra oasis. We will have a traditional Bedouin tea and lunch and then head back to Dahab, passing by amazing desert scenery, with dunes and mountains. We arrive in Dahab at around sunset time. Program 6: Visit of St.Catherine Monastery, Arade Canyon (double canyon). We leave Dahab at 7:30am for a two-hour jeep ride to St.Catherine. We will have approximately 1.5 hour to visit the Monastery. We then go by jeep to a Bedouin family in the Arade Canyon area (1hr), where we will have traditional tea and Bedouin lunch. We go by jeep to the Arade Canyon, where we will have about 1.5 hour to explore the area. We will then head back to Dahab, passing by amazing desert scenery, with dunes and mountains. We arrive in Dahab at around sunset time. Program 7: Visit of St.Catherine Monastery, Bir Safra, Gebel El Makharoom (the Moutain with a hole) and Al Haduhda (big dunes). We leave Dahab at 7:30am for a two-hour jeep ride to St.Catherine. We will have approximately 1.5 hour to visit the Monastery. We go by jeep to a Bedouin family where we will have tea and lunch. We drive for another 25 minutes and then hike on huge dunes. Arriving on the other side, the jeep picks us up and we drive to Bir Safra. We continue on by jeep (30 minutes - arriving in Gebel El Makharoom, exploring the mountain for about 30 minutes. We go by jeep to Al Haduhda and walk around the dunes for about 30 minutes. We drive back to Dahab, passing by amazing desert scenery, with dunes and mountains, arriving at around sunset time. Program 8: Visit of St.Catherine Monastery, Wadi Feiran Oasis and Monastery of 7 Aunts. We leave Dahab at 7:00am for a two-hour jeep ride to St.Catherine. We will have approximately until 10:00 to visit the Monastery. We go by jeep to the Monastery of 7 Aunts (40 minutes) where we will have the chance to visit the area, located in the beautiful Wadi Feiran Oasis (the biggest oasis of South Sinai). We will have a traditional bedouin tea and lunch in the shade of a palm tree in the oasis. After lunch we head back to Dahab (3 hours), arriving at around sunset time. Please note that for this visit, a visa for the whole of egypt is required. Program 9: Visit of St.Catherine Monastery, Wadi Feiran Oasis, Wadi Mukattab (Valley of Writing) and Serabit El Khadim (Hathor Temple). We leave Dahab at 7:30am for a two-hour jeep ride to St.Catherine. We will have approximately 1.5 hour to visit the Monastery. We go by jeep to Wadi Feiran Oasis (1 hour), where we will have a traditional bedouin tea and lunch in the shade of a palm tree. We then head to Wadi Mukattab (30 minutes), where we will witness inscriptions of diverse cultures. We then drive in the valley for two hours, heading to Serabit El Khadim, where we will set up camp. We will have dinner and exchange about Bedouin culture and history of the area. After a night under the stars, we wake up and have a light breakfast and walk to Hathor Temple (1.5 hour), built between 1991 BC to 1307 BC. We go back to camp and drive to the Forest of Pillars, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we drive back to Dahab, passing by amazing desert scenery, with dunes and mountains, arriving at around 700pm. Please note that for this visit, a visa for the whole of egypt is required. We can also cater special trips based on your preferences. If you want it, we can do it! Red sea safari, Boat trips, Diving and Snorkeling in the Red sea. Program 1: Ras Abu Gallum. We leave Dahab at 7:30 by jeep and head towards Blue Hole (30 minutes). We then go by camel to Ras abu Gallum (1.5 hour), a small Bedouin community which looks like the Dahab of 20 years ago. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the beach and snorkel around the area before a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea. After lunch we can continue to enjoy what Ras Abu Gallum has to offer before heading back by camel to Blue Hole. If time allows, we can also snorkel in Blue Hole. We head back to Dahab where we will arrive around sunset time. Program 2: Ras Abu Gallum and Blue Lagoon (2 days and more if desired). We leave Dahab at 7:30 by jeep and head towards Blue Hole (30 minutes). We then go by camel to Ras Abu Gallum (1.5 hour), a small Bedouin community which looks like the Dahab of 20 years ago. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the beach and snorkel around the area before a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea. After lunch, we have some more free time to enjoy Ras Abu Gallum. We then leave Ras Abu Gallum by car to Blue Lagoon (20 minutes). We will set up camp and have dinner and then exchange about Bedouin culture and history of the area. After a night under the stars, we have breakfast, and then enjoy the beach and snorkel around Blue Lagoon. We will have lunch in Blue Lagoon, before heading back to Ras Abu Gallum where we will get on the camels to go back to Blue Hole. We head back to Dahab where we will arrive around sunset time. Program 3: Blue Hole. We leave Dahab at 11:00 and head towards Blue Hole (30 minutes). There, you can enjoy the snorkeling in Blue Hole, stopping for lunch in one of the restaurants. We go back to Dahab at around 4:00pm. This trip includes snorkeling equipment – fins, mask and snorkel. Program 4: Three Pools and Genai Oasis. We leave Dahab at 8:00 and arrive at Genai Oasis (30 minutes), where we will have Bedouin tea. We then drive through to Three Pools, where you can enjoy the snorkeling, stopping for lunch in one of the restaurants. We go back to Dahab at around 4:00pm. This trip includes snorkeling equipment – fins, mask and snorkel. Program 5: Three Pools and Gabr el Bint (2 days). We leave Dahab at 8:00, stopping in Three Pools for some snorkeling. We go by car to the entrance of Gabr el Bint and then walk towards the snorkeling area of Gabr el Bint (1.5 hour walk, with camels carrying luggage). You will have time to enjoy some snorkeling before we have a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea. After lunch, you can continue enjoying the beach and snorkeling. We set up camp in Gabr el Bint, have a traditional Bedouin dinner and exchange about Bedouin culture and history of the area. After a night under the stars, we have breakfast and you can do some more snorkeling until lunch. After lunch, we hike back to the entrance of Gabr el Bint (1.5 hour) and then go by car to Dahab. This trip includes snorkeling equipment – fins, mask and snorkel and camping gear – carpet, sheets and blanket. We can also cater special trips based on your preferences. If you want it, we can do it! Accommodation. There are many different kinds of hotels in Sinai suitable for all different types of travelers, ranging from very cheap to very expensive. Therefore any interest can be satisfied, from economical to ecological and from curative tourism to adventure travelling. The ‘Golden Star’ hotel is 100% Bedouin hotel. It is situated about 80 m from the Red sea. This complex includes a two-storeyed building and a nice comfortable relaxing sitting area. A kiosk with hot and cold beverages works from 7 am till midnight. Rooms of the hotel are air-conditioned, each has a private bathroom and a fridge. Wireless internet is available. Prices are ranging from 10 to 20 euro per night. Transportation. We will gladly arrange for your transportation from anywhere in Egypt.
