7 Day Itinerary in Luanda
Edit ThisIf traveling to Luanda, then here is an exciting 7 day Luanda itinerary. Traveling to Luanda is the perfect decision, and features a one-of-a-kind holiday in the African grasslands amidst the scenic beauty of Angola.
Day 1: Luanda
On the first day upon arriving in Angola's capital city Luanda, look at all the sites it has to offer by booking a city tour. There are many restaurants near the hotels and enjoying a leisurely dinner the first evening is recommended to adjust from you flight travel.
Day 2: Drive to Malange
The next morning, rent a car and drive to Malange, which takes 8 hours through dense African forest that is rarely visited. This is definitely going to be the spot to catch glimpses of the flora and fauna in their natural habitat. Stay the night in a hotel within this location of Africa.
Day 3: Kalandula Falls
Today visit the Kalandula Falls, which is about a 6-hour round trip drive from Malange. The falls of Kalandula are known to be the tallest falls all across the globe and are absolutely worth the trek to them.
Day 4: Cambambe Dam
Today, visit the Cambambe Dam, Angola's main hydroelectric dam, which supplies electricity to Luanda and water for irrigation to the land in the Kwanzaa River Valley. It will take about 6 hours to reach the dam.
Day 5: Kissama National Park
Drive to Kissama National Park. This is one of the Angolan government's more progressive ideas to rehabilitate the natural habitat of the Angolan wildlife with animals brought from South Africa as well as Botswana. Going to see elephants, giraffes, ostrich, zebra and other animals is among the fabulous sites of this region. If lucky, you are also going to witness an animal on the brink of extinction: the palanca antelope, which is indigenous to this area.
Day 6: Driving Back to Luanda
Luanda is a 2-hour journey from Kissama National Park, and you will end up winding your way back through the scenic beauty of the coastline. This way back will offer you a glimpse of the beautiful Mussulo Islands.
Day 7: Last-minute ShoppingSpend the last day relaxing and buying last-minute items to take to friends and family back home.
